I'm Learning / Questions parents ask
QuestionsQuestions parents ask
Short answers to what parents ask us most. Anything missing? Write to hello@imlearning.app.
- What age is I'm Learning for?
- It is built for children of about one to five years old. Nothing in the app needs reading, so a child can use it long before they can read: every word is a picture plus a spoken voice.
- Which languages can my child learn?
- Eight: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese. Every one of the 80 words is recorded by a real voice in all eight.
- Can my child learn a language we do not speak at home?
- Yes, and that is the point of keeping them separate. The app's own language and the language your child learns are two different settings, so a Dutch child can have Dutch menus and learn English words, or the other way round.
- Does it work without internet?
- Yes. All the pictures, words and sounds live on the device after you install it, so it works in the car, on a plane and anywhere with no signal.
- Are there ads or tracking?
- No. There is no third-party advertising, no advertising identifier and no analytics that follow your child between apps or websites. The app collects no personal information at all.
- Is it free? What does the purchase unlock?
- The app is free and one category is open from the start. A single optional purchase unlocks all five categories for good. There is no subscription, and every purchase sits behind a parental gate.
- Can I limit how long my child plays?
- Yes. A grown-up can set a timer for each session. When the time is up the app says so gently rather than cutting off mid-word.
- Which devices does it work on?
- iPhone and iPad through the App Store, and Android phones and tablets through Google Play.
